Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) today gapped up 17%. What will be interesting to see is if Mr. Market looks at this as a sell signal. Today, Dick's P/E Ratio (TTM, GAAP) is 10.57x, about 1/3 of Apple and Microsoft. Dick's is trading way above both The Nasdaq 100 Index (NDX) and way above The S&P 500 Index (SPX) on a 50 day and 200 day relative strength basis.
Analyzing the relative strength of Dick's versus the S&P 500 Index (SPX): The SPX relative strength moving average (RSMA) 50 day, is trading in excess of 30% over the 200 day. Dicks' compared to The S&P 500 Index relative strength moving average (RSMA) 50 day, is trading in excess of 18% over the 200 day. The initial crossover happened back in July of 2020, followed by numerous breakouts in that context. Stock chart below:
